The case for impeachment

THE RECORD DEMANDS ACTION.

Congress should have opened an impeachment investigation into violations of the Emoluments Clauses and unlawful, corrupt campaign practices on day one of this administration. It did not—and the country and its democracy have paid the price.

Each offense stands as a dangerous assault on democracy and the rule of law. Together, they show a pattern of dismantling democratic institutions, consolidating power, silencing opponents, and shielding cronies from accountability.

The Constitution gives Congress both the power and the responsibility to impeach corrupt, abusive executives. Until it takes that obligation seriously, these abuses will continue to endanger the people and the republic.
